Racism Rap and Excuses

Well I'm bound to offend the majority of people somehow but please read through. Today on CNN a black commentator voiced his opinion on the real reason Macklemore won the Grammy over Kendrick Lamar. Apparently the only reason is because of Racism. REALLY??!!! Oh yes, apparently the white people have been stealing credit for music styles for generations. After all, Elvis didn't grow up in the poor area of Mississippi and go to church every Sunday. He would have no way to understand the gospel style or singing the blues. How could you call Elvis the King of Rock and Roll when there were many black musicians playing music long before Elvis? Oh yes, it has all been a conspiracy to deprive the black people credit due for contributions made. Now racism is to blame for people's preferences when it comes to music. Eminem should not be eligible to receive an award for rap because he is not black!!! Are we really going to let this continue? Are we seriously going to use racism as an excuse or a defense against criticism? Politically it has been shown that people will not own up to disagreeing with Obama's decisions for fear they will be called racists. The accusation is damaging. So now we have weak, unethical people who have are playing on emotions to cast an opponent in a bad light. If we were all as racist as we are being led to believe all the name calling would not help. People would cheer if they really agreed with racism. They don't. People don't want to be unfair to others because of something as trivial as skin color. This animosity is caused by putting people who are decent on the defensive. You accuse someone falsely, the seed is planted and media outlets will fuel the outrage by slanting coverage whichever way boosts ratings more. If everyone went back to when the candidates were running in primaries, it was politically incorrect to questions Obama's past. If everyone went back to when the candidates were running in primaries, it was politically incorrect to questions Obama's past because doing so was motivated by racism. Because that was not true, people were less outspoken with criticism and many of the questions asked about candidate Obama were not re-asked so as not to appear racist. Then, when time passed and people's emotions settled, the same questions were asked. Now the problem was those questions were already asked. Why keep bringing them up? BECAUSE they were never answered fully or honestly. That's not something the people should be bullied into letting slide. Make no mistake, this is bullying. Distractions are manufactured so the people don't realize the disintegration of our system of government. Just as an example. Yes all presidents use Executive orders to pass some legislation. They don't use that tactic to revamp the entire health care system. Nobody in their right mind seriously thinks the US government is going to do anything cost effectively. The "law" was only upheld as constitutional when it was considered a TAX. You all are cheering for this new tax you have been convinced is the only way to avoid bankruptcy in case of illness. Our entire system of government was based on checks and balances. When the president states he WILL NOT negotiate (he referred to republicans as terrorists) he is NOT abiding by the constitution. By the way, he not only negotiates with terrorists, he pays for their wars, he sends money, troops and aide to the very people who want to see us and our allies dead. Let the president have his way with his pet projects and he'll give you extra unemployment, pretend to want you to make a living wage, let you stay on your parent's insurance policy for a few extra years. While in the short run you think its great but long term you have forfeited important rights. We all need to be educated how our government works and understand the Constitution. At least then you can make an informed choice. We need to stop claiming racism when there is no evidence. We need to focus on the things we have in common rather than each fighting for things to be our way or no way. We will remain a country divided if we don't learn to compromise and form personal opinions on your own evaluation of the facts.

Twisting Truth

Once again Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman are being brought up in the media. Can we just get a few things straight? First of all, Trayvon Martin was NOT shot in the back. He obviously punched Zimmerman during the confrontation which made the self defense claim feasable. Zimmerman had injuries from physical contact. Unfortunately Trayvon picked the wrong guy to act tough with. It is not illegal to go to a store and buy Skittles. It is not illegal to follow someone to see what they are up to. You can debate whether or not Zimmerman used more force than necessary but you cannot say Trayvon Martin did nothing to cause the situation which resulted in his death. Zimmerman did not punch Trayvon Martin. Even Rachael Zeantel testified Trayvon said "What you folowing me for." Commentators leave out key pieces of information so their argument is on firmer ground. Ignorant people follow where they are led. Al Sharpton, President Obama and many others immediately tried to say it was racially motivated. Without knowing the facts, this untruth was repeated in the media until emotions were whipped into a frenzy and some people stopped listening to the real story. The MEDIA caused much of this when they edited the 911 calls and people looking for an excuse to be angry or those who had a chip on their shoulder already repeated the story as if it were true. Now the Australian boy was killed for fun but excuses are being made for the black "boys" who killed him. Naturally black people couldn't be racists. Obama says nothing about this tragedy. When are we going to see the truth in situations even when it does not suit our cause? When is the media going to offer facts, not just opinions of the journalists? They should be trying to educate the masses on the Constitution and reality, not simply go for the ratings.

How We Got Here

These days there is a multitude of discussions regarding gay rights, religious freedoms, etc. While I am a tolerant person, I am feeling a bit bullied these days by people who spend time twisting facts to suit their arguments. I have a few topics I would like to have a civil discussion about. Today's topic is Gay Rights. There are always more than one side to a situation. In this case, let me play "Devil's Advocate" just to get people to understand where others may be coming from. Biologically species are designed to have males and females able to procreate. That, believe it or not, is the whole reason sex is necessary. Gay people have the desire to have sex with the same sex. That is not hw we were designed and could be considered unnatural. When we were created, God made man and then woman to blend together and populate the Earth. This is why the religious people have a right to condemn homosexuals. So, as a society, we want to be tolerant of all people. It has taken years, but now gay people are far more accepted than before. Where will this acceptance end? If the argument is "we were born this way" then that also applies to pedophiles, right? There are countless fetishes out there, many offensive to most people. I mean how far will we decline before pedophelia is accepted because it is a person's right to have sex with whoever they choose? Has it ever occured to people that just because you have certain urges you do not have to act on them? Seriously, maybe you are attracted to young boys, girls. Maybe you are attracted to the same sex. Do you have to act on these urges? I personally have never understood how people in Africa can be starving to death but still have babies. They are dying but still have to have sex. If I am not well, sex is the last thing I want! Apparently the right to sex has outranked all other rights and people's sense of right and wrong. As an evolved society it is sad we have devolved to giving in to our baser instincts and lost all sense of self control.
